Position SummaryMoraine Park Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty Electrical Power Distribution Instructor for our Beaver Dam campus. This position is responsible for the multimodal delivery of instruction, facilitation of student learning, and ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies that meet college academic and workforce needs. The role also provides regular student support or referrals to the appropriate department to help meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.
The successful candidate will have an associate degree in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) with two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of recent experience. Alternatively, two years of post‑secondary teaching experience within the past five years (eight semesters part‑time or four semesters full‑time at an accredited institution) may be considered.

Responsibilities- Prepare for and facilitate learning in assigned courses according to the College’s core values.
- Establish a professional and safe learning environment and model appropriate workplace skills and behavior.
- Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
- Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
- Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by FERPA. Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
- Provide timely verbal and written feedback to ensure continued growth and development.
- Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
- Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
- Promote retention and student success through referrals to College services and resources.
- Maintain relationships with K‑12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
- Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development in Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies and all required training.
- Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs as needed to support the program area and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Experience operating equipment for overhead and underground residential distribution (URD): vehicles, poles, cables, transformers, generators, and conductors.
- Erect, maintain, and repair wood poles and metal towers, use string wire conductors, and perform electrical power distribution tasks.
- Climb electrical poles, string wires, and use climbing equipment; familiar with OSHA, DOT, electrical code, rigging, right‐of‐way, and tree trimming requirements.
- Proficient in map reading, surveying, specifications, drawings, and computer literacy.
- Knowledge of AC, AC circuits, parallel circuits, AC instruments and meters, line design, street light circuits, underground distribution, limiting equipment, electrical motors, series circuit resistance and impedance, capacitors and capacitor reactance, substation design, and operation and maintenance.
- Upon hire, maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other required agency licensure for accreditation.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and respectful culture.
- OSHA 30 Cardholder.
- Completion of an industry‑recognized line worker apprenticeship.
Position Requirements
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.
Hiring Range: Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 – $43.99/hour based on course configuration
