Position SummaryWe are seeking a full‑time Maintenance Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship Instructor for our new program at the Fond du Lac Campus. The instructor will deliver multimodal instruction, facilitate learning, develop curriculum, assessment and learning strategies, and support student career goals. The position is funded by the Developing Markets Grant through June 30, 2026, and thereafter by the college.
Responsibilities- Prepare for and facilitate learning in assigned courses, establishing a professional and safe learning environment.
- Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and assessments to meet student learning needs.
- Maintain student confidentiality and records per FERPA, submitting grades within the expected timeframe.
- Provide timely verbal and written feedback to ensure student growth and development.
- Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
- Assist with student recruitment and promote the College’s programs and services.
- Promote retention and student success through referrals to College services and resources.
- Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities.
- Build ongoing relationships with K‑12, DOC, community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
- Maintain proficiency in emerging trends and industry practices, completing annual professional development activities.
- Assist with mentoring faculty.
- Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, identifying alternative funding sources as needed.
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of recent experience within the past five years; alternatively, two years of post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Experience in at least eight of the following areas: rigging and hoists, preventive maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, print reading, bearings, packings and seals, couplings, fasteners, pipe fitting, power transmission systems, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and basic electrical fundamentals.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and promote an inclusive work environment.
- Upon hire, maintain required certifications and licensure as dictated by accreditation agencies.
- Apprenticeship completion certificate from the Wisconsin Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards (BAS) or another federally registered program.
- OSHA‑10 cardholder.
Hiring Range: $66,960‑$77,669 (178‑day contract in the academic year). Starting immediately. Workplace flexibility: open campus. Travel: occasional. Benefits: summary of benefits.
