Overview
Materials Engineering Co-op role at Brunswick Corporation. This opportunity involves working within the Engineering team to support the metal melting process used to manufacture outboard and sterndrive motors for the recreational boating industry.
Position OverviewAs part of the talented Engineering team, you will work collaboratively and independently with manufacturing professionals who are responsible for the metal melting process. You will learn to work with Operations leaders, supervisors, technicians, and production operators on the manufacturing floor as you own and manage assigned projects from inception to completion.
Essential Functions- Test chemical properties of alloys used in production for our casting processes.
- Analyze chemical properties for aluminum and tool steel.
- Work with full-time team members located in multiple plants, assisting with projects and analysis.
- Develop and edit operating procedures.
- Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant degree with a controls/systems/analytics emphasis.
- Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
- Ability to enroll in a formalized co-op program through your university.
- Dependable, self-motivated and engaged learner.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
- Permanent US Work Authorization required.

You will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour. Actual pay will vary based on factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, and location.
