Overview
The Senior Buyer and Procurement Project Management Leader at Mercury Racing is a high impact plant leadership role integral for strategic sourcing and planning. This role serves on the Mercury Racing core leadership team and partners with plant leadership to support all manufacturing and engineering requirements and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and cost to build competitive advantage for Mercury.
A successful candidate will quickly learn internal and external processes specific to Plant 36 operational needs. Autonomous strategic planning and problem solving are key to success. This is a high visibility role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to keep senior leaders informed of project statuses and needs. There is potential to advance to a Site Procurement Manager for the Racing Site based on performance.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Procurement
- Develop and execute site-level procurement strategies
- Identify and execute cost savings initiatives
- Drive end to end procurement strategies for new product introductions and engineering advancements
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure uninterrupted supply to meet production needs
- Manage supplier relationships to enhance supply reliability, cost, and innovation
- Establish and enforce risk mitigation policies
- Implement supplier performance metrics to improve delivery reliability
- Oversee supply chain operations and escalate risks as needed
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement operations
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Lead process improvement initiatives
- Growth potential to advance to Site Procurement Manager responsibilities based on performance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, APQP, and PPAP
- Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to a high-performance, inclusive culture
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPM and/or CPIM certification
- Lean and Six Sigma certification and practical experience
The anticipated pay range for this position is $84,500 to $136,100 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on qualifications and business needs. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
