The primary purpose of this position is to complete duties assigned to provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

• Handle, prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner.
• Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely.
• Serve and bus trays.
• Pour and cover beverages.
• Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food.
• Assist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
• Ensure food service equipment is in and is kept in good working order.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments.
• Attend in-service training programs for dietary employees.
• Observe infection control procedures.
• Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
• Adhere to all facility policies & procedures.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Dietary Manager and/or person of authority.

• Previous food service experience, preferably a long-term care facility.
• Ability to read/write/comprehend in English.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally.
• Provide services based on physician orders.
• Works regularly with information such as medical records or reports, financial reports, information on computer screens or other electronic devices, and records that are restricted to specific persons.
• Must comply with confidentiality policy.
