Mercury Marine Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Co-op (Spring or Fall Term)
As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you will work collaboratively and independently with highly qualified manufacturing professionals responsible for producing outboard and sterndrive motors for the recreational boating industry. You will become an integral member of a manufacturing team, working with managers, supervisors, technicians, and production employees on the plant floor and owning and managing assigned projects from inception to completion.
Position OverviewHiring for a full‑time co‑op term (January‑August 2026 or June‑December 2026). You will support manufacturing process improvement, cost reduction studies, design review, and vendor qualification activities, while gaining hands‑on experience and learning to troubleshoot production problems and analyze data for manufacturing decisions.
Essential Functions- Participate in design reviews to improve the manufacture of new parts and operations.
- Evaluate test/production data, prepare technical analysis, and recommend manufacturing methods and processes to meet design objectives for new or improved products or processes.
- Design, plan, and conduct process improvement and/or cost‑reduction studies/projects on new and current products.
- Evaluate vendor capability to provide required products, identify new vendor processes, and conduct tests to qualify new processes on our products.
- Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant degree with a Manufacturing Engineering emphasis.
- Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
- Availability to work full‑time (40+ hours per week) through a full co‑op term in 2026.
- The ability to enroll in a formalized co‑op Program through your university.
- Dependable, self‑motivated, and engaged learner.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
- Permanent U.S. work authorization required.
- Hands‑on learning experience in a professional setting with experienced professionals.
- Project work that supports organizational goals, ranging from larger projects to smaller independent assignments.
- Full 40‑hour work week.
- Feedback and performance reviews throughout the assignment.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00–$27.00 per hour. Actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on year in school/credits earned, degree, job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
