As a part of the talented Mercury Racing team, you will support the design, testing, and development of high-performance outboard and sterndrive propulsion systems by managing dynamometer test facilities, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. This role combines hands‑on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, test system maintenance, and technical analysis to deliver reliable engine development and competition support while driving continuous improvements in testing capabilities.

- Support design, testing, and development of Mercury Racing outboards and sterndrives
- Maintain and manage AVL Dyno facilities while collaborating with our parent facility staff for long term projects, upgrades, and monthly calibrations
- Work with outside suppliers to quote and order equipment
- Update software, PCs, firmware, AVL PUMA software, and work with IT to keep facilities in compliance with security policies
- Source and prepare instrumentation to support engine development testing
- Manage data logger hardware, software and instrumentation for Competition series as well as internal development work
- Ability to read complex control system diagrams and system I/O requirements to integrate instrumentation with or without a standards document
- Ability to work independently on special, unique, and non-routine projects
- Good written communication skills
- Ability to interpret data, independently analyze component failures, and recommend component or system changes
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools, solder electronic circuits, and perform light machine repair
- Associates of Applied Science (Mechatronics, Computer Science) or equivalent
- Ability to travel occasionally to support remote testing, Competition Series across the US, and remote week-long job related training
- 5 years experience in dynamometer test systems
- Experience with AVL PUMA, IndiCOM, Concerto, and Combustion measurement analysis
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software
The anticipated pay range for this position is 62,800 – 90,500, annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role.
