Position: RN Neuro Rehab Days Part time

RN Neuro Rehab Days Part Time – SSM Health

Job Highlights: This position is in the inpatient rehab unit (primary rehab, crossed into Med/Surg) and may also include acute neuro patients. We are seeking compassionate individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and are ready to be part of a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.
Schedule: 7a-3:30p, every other weekend. Rotating holidays.

Job Summary: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and quality of life for the patient, family, and significant others by systematically evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Establishes effective relationships and serves as an advocate with the patient, family, and significant others to facilitate the development of the care plan unique to the patient’s care needs.
  • Uses the nursing process to develop and implement the plan of care, collect assessment data, determine appropriate nursing diagnoses, identify expected patient outcomes, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Develops assessment and management strategies based on a consideration of the physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure dimensions of human responses.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the impact of illness on patient status across all dimensions.
  • Utilizes leadership skills by coordinating with the patient, family, and inter‑professional team to plan interventions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Utilizes effective communication to participate in collaborative decision‑making that reflects cultural sensitivity, ethics, legality, holism, compassion, and within economic constraints.
  • Educates the patient, family, and significant others about measures that promote health or comfort.
  • Fosters a healthy work environment by serving as a mentor and role model for nursing colleagues, students, and others.
  • Applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice based on age‑specific and clinical needs.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.

Experience

Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of speech for oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent vision and depth perception for distances near and far and color differentiation.
  • Frequent use of smell and hearing for odors and alarms.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • State of

    Work Location:

    Illinois – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA);
    Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).

    Missouri – BLS HCP – AHA;
    Registered Nurse – Missouri Division of Professional Registration (or RN issued by Compact State).
  • State of

    Work Location:

    Oklahoma – BLS HCP – AHA;
    Registered Nurse – Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) (or RN issued by Compact State).

    Wisconsin – BLS HCP – AHA;
