FWS - Outdoor Recreation Program Assistant - Adventures Without Limits (CSWS) 25-26 Description
This position is only open to current Pacific University Students
Department Name, location of department: Off campus at Adventures Without Limits Headquarters, Forest Grove
Length of employment: 2025-26 academic year. Shifts are available Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, some weekends available
Wage Rate: $16.30
Job Summary:
Adventures Without Limits (commonly referred to as AWL) is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization that is passionate about providing outdoor opportunity and adventure to all people, regardless of ability level, socioeconomic status, gender, ethnicity, or age. We believe that everyone should have access to the mental, physical, and social benefits of time spent in nature. Our programs aim to inspire personal growth, instill confidence, develop peer relationships, and enhance awareness of the natural environment for our participants.

Responsibilities may include some of the following depending on interests and skills:
- Gaining a working knowledge of AWL’s mission, goals and policies.
- Assist social media and marketing efforts
- Assist in the planning and implementation of outdoor adventure trips.
- Loading/unloading of equipment and gear for outdoor adventure trips
- Assisting with volunteer management and/or program tracking databases
- Assisting with equipment and warehouse duties
- Working independently on a project of interest that will enhance AWL (this could be tied to a course or independent study potentially).

Required:
- Enrolled in a 4-year college program. You may find this experience more rewarding if you are studying one of the following topics: outdoor education, outdoor recreation, therapeutic recreation, environmental education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreation administration, business administration, marketing, or a related field
- Interest in working with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, and take initiative
- Ability to organize alphabetically, numerically, and alphanumerically.
- Interest in outdoor recreation and/or experience in one of the following: canoeing, rafting, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, rock-climbing, or outdoor education
