Title of Position: FWS-Fitness Center Attendant and Intramural Official
Department: Athletics, Stoller Center
Purpose of Position: Serve as the facility attendant and customer service representative for the Pacific University Fitness Center (FC) and/or the Athlete Weight Room (Box) & Field House. Officiates select intramural leagues.

• Understand and enforce all policies associated with the FC and Box.
• Work independently.
• Be a problem-solver should a conflict arise.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and order, including: cleaning & disinfecting equipment, cleaning windows & doors, vacuuming & mopping floors, re-racking weights & put equipment away as necessary.
• Responsible for emergency management, including: respond to situations where a participant/patron may be injured or otherwise under duress; respond and assist in clearing the spaces supervised in cases of fire or other emergencies.
• Conduct daily inspection of fitness center equipment.
• Assist facility users with any problems they have with facilities or other inquiries and problem solve.
• Assist facility users with check-out of recreational equipment. Follow check-out policies and procedures to ensure equipment is returned and maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Officiate and facilitate intramural league competitions.
• Sports include:
  Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Pickleball, and more.
• No prior experience required. Training will be held so student workers understand sport rules and regulations. Job requires knowledge of the sport, ability to make quick decisions, and work with a team.
• Engaging in creative ways to market intramural sports.

Length of employment: From the first day of school until the last. We also have a smaller staff of workers throughout the summer.

General

Qualifications:

This position is only open to current students at Pacific with Federal Work Study. Ability to work independently and with limited supervision. Ability to uphold policies and enforce rules as necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills as well as working knowledge of the fitness facilities and equipment. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 45lbs. CPR/First Aid Certified preferred.
