Vision for Education is recruiting for enthusiastic and motivated Youth Workers to support schools across Cinderford. If you've worked with children or young people in youth work, sports coaching, residential care, mentoring or a similar setting, your experience could be a great fit for a rewarding career in education.
Working within local primary and SEND schools, you'll help pupils both in and out of the classroom, supporting their learning, wellbeing and personal development. Every day brings something different, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and helping young people succeed.
The RoleAs a Youth Worker in schools, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils during lessons, either in class, in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
- Supervising classes during planned teacher absences using work provided by the school.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils stay engaged with their learning.
- Supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Building strong, trusting relationships that help pupils grow in confidence.
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide the best possible support.
No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work across a range of school settings while gaining valuable experience.
About YouTo be considered for this Youth Worker role, you will:
- Have experience working with children or young people in any setting.
- Be confident communicating with pupils, staff and parents.
- Be calm, patient and able to adapt to different situations.
- Enjoy working as part of a team while using your own initiative.
- Have a genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
A degree is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with transferable experience from youth work, coaching, care, mentoring or community support are encouraged to apply.
