A day in the life of a Care Assistant

  • Companionship - Providing support, companionship, communication and engagement
  • Personal care-supporting with a wash bath or shower and supporting the client with dressing and oral care.
  • Medication-Prompting, assisting or administering medications and creams.
  • Meals Supporting the client with healthy meals, snacks and beverages.
  • Domestic tasks- light cleaning tasks.
  • Mobility - Supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility.
  • Social activities
    - Trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • No specific qualifications are required, but previous experience in a care or customer service role would be beneficial. Agincare provides fully funded training up to QCF level 5 for their employees.
