Job Overview: The Social Sciences departments on each of the four main campuses (Florissant Valley, Forest Park, Meramec, and Wildwood) are seeking adjunct faculty to support enrollment needs for various disciplines. The selected faculty will teach on campus during the day, evening, or weekend hours (in mutual agreement) for fall semester later-start courses beginning September 22 and October 20. Adjunct faculty are responsible for teaching contracted courses in accordance with STLCC curriculum requirements, facilitating a meaningful learning experience, and fostering a culture of learning.

What you'll do:

  • Work with academic department leaders to select and/or utilize department‑approved texts and instructional materials.
  • Prepare course materials in keeping with the course profile.
  • Provide students with a college‑approved syllabus, enter attendance and grades, and complete other compliance requirements by published due dates.
  • Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide interesting and engaging assignments.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes and provide feedback and assessment in a timely manner.
  • Be available for student consultation through office hours or scheduled appointments by phone, email, and webinar technologies (minimum one hour per course of instruction).
  • Complete all college‑required training.

Education, experience, and other requirements: Master’s degree in Psychology or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate study hours in Psychology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Canvas learning management systems.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
