Job SummaryThe Senior Drafter (Drafter SR) is a highly experienced drafting professional responsible for leading the development of 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to support plant retrofit and design projects. This role requires extensive field experience, technical drafting expertise, and the ability to lead and coordinate small to medium-sized design efforts. Candidates with SCS Line Design experience, particularly within FPK, are strongly preferred.
KeyResponsibilities
Lead the development and production of 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models based on input from engineers and designers.
Conduct plant-site walkdowns to gather field data and dimensions necessary for accurate design modeling.
Revise and update existing 2D CAD drawings to support retrofit and upgrade projects.
Ensure all work complies with project standards, design specifications, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with engineers, design staff, and plant personnel to deliver high-quality, constructible design deliverables.
Lead and coordinate drafting efforts for small and mid-sized projects, ensuring schedule and quality expectations are met.
Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design preferred.
10+ years of professional drafting experience in industrial or power generation environments.
Prior experience with SCS Line Design processes and procedures is highly preferred.
Experience working in or supporting the FPK (Forest Park) office is a strong plus.
Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Micro Station, or similar platforms).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
In-depth understanding of engineering design principles and drafting standards.
Ability to lead drafting tasks for small to medium-sized projects with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Committed to quality, safety, and design excellence.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with engineering staff, plant personnel, and external vendors.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Familiarity with plant retrofit project requirements and documentation standards.
