About

The Role

You’ll lead the maintenance and support functions that keep our concrete manufacturing plant running safely and efficiently—through heat, cold, rain, and everything in between. This role is hands‑on and operations‑driven, ideal for a supervisor who thrives in a plant environment and brings solid manufacturing experience.

A Day in the Life

Start your shift reviewing production orders and bills of materials to understand quantities, specs, and delivery commitments. From there, you’ll sequence priorities, set the day’s plan for support teams, and synchronize maintenance and production so targets and quality standards are met. On the floor, you’ll monitor performance, troubleshoot issues to prevent delays and excess cost, and adjust schedules as needed.

You’ll refine standard work, coach teams to follow procedures, and jump in when needed—whether that’s light carpentry, metal or welding fabrication support, warehouse coordination, or operating equipment safely to keep product moving. You’ll compile the day’s data, run production and time/attendance reports in IFS, issue shop‑card reports, and review operating metrics to drive utilization and throughput.

What You’ll Do
  • Translate production plans and BOMs into actionable support schedules and resource plans.
  • Coordinate maintenance and manufacturing activities to meet spec, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Analyze production and operations reports; resolve manufacturing or maintenance problems to minimize cost and avoid downtime.
  • Champion safe work practices and standard operating procedures; audit adherence and coach for improvement.
  • Drive asset utilization and operational performance; update or create standard work as processes evolve.
  • Address employee concerns; elevate unresolved grievances to the Production Superintendent.
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production/support data; run IFS production and time/attendance reports and generate shop‑card reports.
  • Provide hands‑on support across carpentry, warehouse operations, metal fabrication, welding, and equipment operation when needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 7–10+ years of prior or related manufacturing experience.
  • 1–2+ years of supervisory background with strong independent decision‑making.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing plant and in all weather conditions.
  • Day travel 2–3 times per month; overnight travel less than 3 days per year.
You’re Proficient In
  • Leadership and people management
  • 5 Whys root cause analysis
  • Production optimization and scheduling
  • Maintenance and repair best practices
  • IFS reporting (production, time/attendance) and shop‑card reporting
