NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Materials Lab Technician to support GDOT’s Forest Park laboratory. This role involves performing laboratory tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with GDOT standards. Candidates with experience in concrete or soils / geotechnical testing are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory tests on concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregates following GDOT procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate test reports and documentation.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist with sample preparation and handling for various material types.
  • Follow all safety protocols and quality control standards in the lab environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a concrete or soils laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with GDOT testing procedures and specifications.

Helpful Certifications (Not Required):

  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) lab certifications (Strength, aggregate testing, etc)
  • GDOT Laboratory Certifications (Aggregate, batching, etc)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework in materials testing preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
