Job DescriptionThe Outside Sales Representative solicits parts and services business from accounts through personal and phone contacts. The representative will present a professional image with a high level of customer service focus. To be successful it’s essential to focus on development of new accounts, recover lost accounts, and manage established accounts.
Responsibilities- Promote and sell Tidewater Fleet Supply/TNT Parts Inc. Technology products including Webshop.
- Prospect for new accounts/referrals which include compiling and updating a list of prospective clients to provide leads for additional business.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive account specific growth strategies.
- Service existing accounts and communicate with clients on a regular basis. Discuss use and features of various parts.
- Manage accounts in the CRM system.
- Update account profiles in CRM annually for contact info and sales potential.
- Pre Call Plan each Sales call using CRM “Sales IQ” guided action.
- Follow up on orders to ensure that customers are served promptly.
- Coordinate parts and with the appropriate personnel. Advise counter person on delivery instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
- Appropriate manufacturer training.
- Three years’ sales experience, including new account development, prospecting, and cold calling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expertise in the heavy duty or automotive aftermarket is highly valued, along with a positive attitude and a passion for customer service.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years sales experience, including new account development, prospecting, and cold calling; or the equivalent of education and experience.
