Overview

What You’ll Do- Determines donor eligibility of new and return donors for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations by conducting evaluations to ensure criteria of plasma donors are met in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
- Reviews informed consent forms for plasmapheresis and immunization, including explanation of procedures, potential adverse events, immunization schedules, possible antibody formation, and dose administration; informs the donor of the choice to participate or refuse.
- Performs medical history reviews and health assessments for donors.
- Uses SOPs to facilitate regulatory compliance.
- Reviews donor management system and/or immunization paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Reviews accumulated data to confirm eligibility and consults with the donor center Licensed Physician as needed.
- Classifies donors to appropriate program.
- Monitors donor reactions to plasmapheresis and documents findings.
- Performs duties for the Hyperimmune Program, if applicable, as described in SOPs.
- Reviews all normal and abnormal test results in the donor management system to determine continued donor eligibility.
- Maintains confidentiality of employee, donor, and donor center records.
- Counsels donors with abnormal test results or eligibility concerns and defers them per the donor deferral matrix; refers donors for follow up and diagnostic testing when applicable per SOP.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program (e.g., Physician, Nurse, LPN/LPN or RN). Certified/licensed as an EMT (Basic, Intermediate/2, or Advanced/Paramedic, as allowable).
- Must work within the scope of the professional license/certification as defined by the state of work.
- One (1) year of hospital or field care experience or experience in a plasma center is preferred.
- Maintain current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation.
- Complete training and competency assessments using OPI-approved modules or curriculum.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
The expected base pay for this position is $24.75-$35.00 per hour
.
