Store Sales Associate

Overview

Citi Trends is seeking a dedicated Store Sales Associate to join our team at one of the largest chains in the value-priced urban apparel industry. This is a part-time, entry-level position with opportunities to contribute to merchandising and customer service excellence.

• Processing freight
• Assisting with price changes/markdowns
• Balancing the cash register according to company policy
• Calling out prices for customers when ringing transactions
• Bags merchandise efficiently during checkout
• Handling cash, checks, and credit cards according to policy
• Obtaining management approval for returns, voids, and checks when needed
• Maintaining and performing housekeeping duties as assigned
• Providing proper customer service, greeting customers, complying with fitting room policies, ringing customers in promptly, and thanking customers for shopping
• Following all safety procedures
• Maintaining a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag
• Assisting management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels
• Assisting management with tasks per company policy
• Explaining exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions
• Assisting Store Manager with Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses and reporting incidents

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages)
