Job Description:

Lockheed Martin Space in Ft Belvoir, Virginia is seeking a full-time Early Career Satellite Systems Engineer to join their team. This role involves supporting a 24/7 crew or direct support day staff position within the Sage program. Candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize engineering skills to support an important customer mission.
• Participate in an extensive education and certification program.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a science and technology related program such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• US Citizenship, as this position requires a government security clearance (TS/SCI and completion of a CI Poly).

Desired Skills:

• Experience with on-orbit spacecraft or satellite flight operations.
• Familiarity with Linux, MATLAB, Java, C++, Perl, Oracle/SQL, HTML, XML.
• Understanding of software/hardware infrastructure, middleware, and system architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Work Schedule:

• Rotating 40-hour week as assigned by the team leader.
• This position is based at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
