• Serves as Headquarters’ senior single point of contact for the development of concepts, plans, policies and procedures designed for the management and timely support of items assigned to the Defense Logistics Agency for management.
• Represents the Agency (DLA) at meetings with Office of Secretary of War, Military Services, and Civil Agencies to provide advice and guidance for the development of programs, policies, and procedures impacting departments.
• Establishes and maintains contact with Military Services staff to ensure compatibility of concepts, logistics support initial planning initiatives and resolve viewpoints.
• Conducts staff reviews of DLA Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs), implementing guidelines related to overall support of end-to-end supply chains and Executive Agent.
• Develops recommended changes to existing procedures to increase the availability of support and responsiveness as well as decrease center and depot processing times/cost.
• Responds to inquiries from Congress, the Office of the Secretary of War, Military Services, other Federal Agencies, and Commercial Industry in the resolution of item problems.
• Conducts analysis of joint logistics practices related to subsistence used by the Military Services and Federal Civil Agencies, developing recommended modifications and improvements in overall DoD support concepts and objectives.
• Utilizes Secret and Top-Secret data systems and classified repositories to access contingency plans, force structure, and sustainment support.

Experience:

One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Provides senior leaders with authoritative readiness reporting and develops corrective actions for shortfalls. Oversees demand planning, program reviews, and sustainment studies for nuclear/space and MSC support. Responds to inquiries from senior defense leaders, Congress, GAO, and external stakeholders on logistics readiness issues and corrective actions. Writes/develops policies, procedures, and agreements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
