Clinical Research Assistant I – Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress
Join the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine as a Clinical Research Assistant in our Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress. This role involves recruiting and screening subjects, conducting research interviews, collecting baseline and follow‑up data, and supporting a Phase 2 randomized, double‑blinded, placebo‑controlled study evaluating PTSD interventions, including MDMA‑assisted therapy.
Responsibilities- Performs research projects, including collection and organization of data.
- Independently identifies and collects reports, journal articles, data, and other relevant information in an organized and proactive capacity.
- Assists with the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations, including editing and formatting documents, and distributing them to all scientific collaborators as required.
- Assists in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
- Assists with lab work including preparation of patient samples.
- Maintains clear and accurate project records, inventories, and logbooks.
- Performs data entry for research projects and maintains databases.
- Interacts with study subjects, including screening, recruitment, and data collection.
- Provides basic data analysis and interpretation.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including attendance of and participation in required training for the role.
- Bachelor’s Degree required;
Behavioral Sciences preferred. - Minimum of 0–2 years experience required.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic computer programs; ability to follow detailed instructions; good written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Previous clinical research experience is preferred.
- Previous experience with patient recruitment and consenting preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust investigation.
- This position will take place primarily in a clinic, hospital, or office environment onsite at Fort Belvoir, VA.
- Hourly pay range: $18.25–$23.00. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors.
