Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Technical Editor to provide continued support to the DTRA NE‑MA Department’s customers and programs. Responsibilities include facilitating vulnerability assessments and mission assurance department support and performance analysis in support of DoD and DTRA efforts.
Responsibilities- Review, edit, and format documents, reports, and materials to ensure adherence to the updated reporting format.
- Edit content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
- Collaborate with team members to gather necessary information and context for accurate document editing.
- Ensure accurate and professional products are released regarding performance, vulnerability, and adversarial assessments. Transform complex technical content into clear, concise, reader‑friendly documents.
- Enhance overall readability and flow while maintaining technical integrity.
- Work closely with Assessment Teams to understand assignment scope and details, providing real‑time editing support.
- Perform final proofreading to eliminate errors, typos, and formatting inconsistencies.
- Verify that all relevant data, references, and citations are accurate and properly documented.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in data analytics. An additional four (4) years of data science experience on projects with similar data analytics processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience providing communications support to sensitive programs and topics with the DoD.
- Expert knowledge, skill, and ability to write, edit, and revise documents tailored to the highest levels of the U.S. Government/DoD.
- Knowledge of the organization’s core business/mission processes.
- Excellent command of spelling, grammar, and punctuation with strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Experience using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Knowledge of cloud‑based knowledge management technologies and concepts related to security, governance, procurement, and administration.
- Knowledge of principal methods, procedures, and techniques of gathering information and producing, reporting, and sharing information.
- Skill in using knowledge management technologies.
- Ability to match the appropriate knowledge repository technology for a given application or environment.
Normal office environment.
TravelUp to 10‑20% required; travel within the continental United States up to four times annually.
