Description
Leidos is seeking a Sr. SQL Database Administrator (DBA) in Fort Belvoir, VA to partner on a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. The DBA performs day-to-day technical database administration tasks. This includes database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Configuration and management of Oracle Clusters and ensuring high availability.
- Proficient in writing bash scripts on a Linux OS for managing Enterprise DB and Oracle databases.
- Responsible for the configuration and upkeep of Enterprise DB/Postgre
SQL. - Overseeing the configuration and management of SQL Server clusters to ensure high availability. This position involves performing advanced database administration tasks and evaluating the technical contributions of team members.
- Engages in database design, identifies database structures, defines database schemas, manages database access privileges, optimizes database queries, documents processes, upgrades database instances, plans for long-term requirements, establishes operational guidelines, and ensures database security.
- Reviews the data within the database to maintain user database integrity, supports database tools, manages database tables and dictionaries, oversees recovery and backup procedures, and provides suggestions for enhancements and improvements.
- Monitors and oversees backend data synchronization applications and the retrieval of data from external sources, ensuring smooth application performance.
- Analyzes customer issues, creates and shares solutions, and then takes necessary corrective measures to start a repair or return.
- Works together with senior management and clients to implement technical solutions.
- Offers both remote and on-site support.
- Aids in the creation and compliance with procedures and policies.
- Meets customer needs in a 24/7/365 setting.
- Revises technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for personnel available 24/7/365.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a BS with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 years of prior relevant experience. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Higher level knowledge of standards, concepts and tools to be able to complete technology assignments.
- Domain level technical knowledge to maintain databases, ensure recovery and provide database patches.
- Experience working independently on technical database administration activities in support of a client on databases.
- Experience implementing a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Experience developing methodologies and presenting solutions to problems to senior management and clients.
- Experience interfacing with senior management and clients on requirements and solutions.
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
- An active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this for position.
