Job Description

Fibertek is looking for a carpenter for the C5

ISR Facilities team at Fort Belvoir, VA, which supports the US Army's world class research and development programs. Work will entail rough, finish, repair and general maintenance carpentry, as well as other facilities support. This is a full time, permanent position and Fibertek offers a comprehensive benefits package. Top Secret SCI Clearance is required;
Fibertek will sponsor successful candidate for Secret Clearance if needed.

• Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to applicable building practices and codes.

• Reads blueprints, sketches and building plans for material required and dimensions. Drafts sketches. Estimates materials needed to perform task.

• Removes and replaces sections of structures as needed. Removes debris and cleans work site and tools after completion.

• Frames walls, installs insulation, ceiling tiles, drywall, subflooring, flooring, windows, doors, door frames, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.

• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.

• Assists other facilities maintenance team members and trades in projects as required.

• Follows all safety protocol and protection measures; assists with or advises safety inspections as required.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; applicable training.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Minimum 5 years experience.

• Schedule is , Monday to Friday.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /DEMANDS:

• Production shop, laboratory, office and outdoor environments.

• Physical demands include bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

• Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds required; heavier items with assistance.
