Summary of Position

The Senior Accountant/Controller (title depends on experience) is responsible for oversight of all accounting functions of the North Coast Brewing Company, Inc. under the supervision of the CFO. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Company’s books of account are maintained in accordance with standard accounting principles and Company policy in order to generate accurate and timely financial reporting and to assist management in planning and analysis.

The Senior Accountant/Controller will participate in a high-performance culture that embraces our B Corp mission and emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, high standards, and goal attainment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following experience and expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; CPA or other certification desirable but not mandatory;
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting/finance experience performing tasks described below;
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a passion and curiosity for problem solving;
• Ability to recommend, review, understand, and explain complex accounting, tax, and other rules, regulations, and internal controls;
• Experience with a variety of software and tools including expertise in Excel and ERP systems;
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization;
• Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and standard financial statement presentation; cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment desirable.
• Supervisory experience;
• Ability to work a majority of time in person at the North Coast Brewing Company facility.
• Desire to improve skills and advance in the accounting and management fields.
