Field Service Engineer III

Responsibilities- Perform technical functions in support of engineering activities such as troubleshooting, testing, modification, assembly, maintenance and repair of electronic systems and other specialized avionics equipment.
- Evaluate components, subsystems, test equipment and software, providing technical support to Air Force customers on operations and maintenance of assigned communications/surveillance equipment.
- Perform aircraft installation, troubleshooting and testing of equipment, supporting aircraft flight test and engineering evaluations of new systems and system configurations.
- Assist in training junior level electronics technicians and Air Force personnel to perform general fabrication, assembly, test and evaluation, and documentation tasks.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ aircraft avionics maintenance experience, JTWS equipment experience, or equivalent DoD SIGINT experience.
- Must be able to operate as a single maintainer.
- Eight (8) plus years of experience with AFSOC, AF or DoD SIGINT/COMINT, EW, Guidance & Control or Comm/Nav systems.
- Knowledge of AF and AFSOC organizational structure.
- Knowledge of DoD SIGINT/COMINT employment concepts.
- Familiarity with USAF, AFSOC aircraft maintenance concepts, practices and procedures.
- CompTIA Security+ certified or within 12 months.
U.S. citizenship and a U.S. Government security clearance at the TOP SECRET / SCI level with CI POLY eligibility.
Travel RequirementsTravel required 25-35%; sometimes the travel will be short notice.
