OpportunityCACI has an outstanding opportunity for select expert GIS database administrators that want to make a difference in the defense of the nation by applying their talents and experience in a fast‑paced dynamic environment in support of US Special Operations Command. The opportunity is limited to self‑starters with an advanced level of experience in managing and developing databases and capable of working independently in a fluid custom application development environment.
You will be an integral part of a selective professional IT team that directly supports the operational planning cycle to support mission success. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization in Fayetteville, NC.
- Support a growing custom geospatial database environment by creating and managing database objects, constraints, dependencies, relationships, and both traditional and large‑object storage structures and interpret new requirements and identify solutions to meet those requirements.
- Support the design and integration of multiple ESRI, ArcGIS, and messaging applications into a common centralized database configuration.
- Have expertise in SQL tuning and a basic understanding of XML technologies, and be able to demonstrate the capability to effectively utilize customer support from vendor companies.
- Strong understanding of geospatial database schema object management, data modeling, and architecture. Provide advice to the software development team and support application support team throughout the staging and production cycle. Implement and troubleshoot triggers, views, stored procedures and data‑integrity constraints, and identify and troubleshoot database issues.
- Analyze, design, build, test and implement solutions. Expert understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and/or Postgre
SQL. - Excellent communication skills, including technical writing, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Expand knowledge and experience base, remain detail‑oriented, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within required deadlines.
- Exceptional problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities, including troubleshooting technical issues, successfully resolving project issues and challenges, and developing creative solutions for process improvement and better understanding user requirements.
- Active TS/SCI
- Perform advanced level planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise level system.
- Have 7+ years of progressive experience performing complex analysis, design, development, and modification to improve efficiency of Microsoft SQL and/or Postgre
SQL databases in support of enterprise architecture. - Highly proficient in administering and deploying open source and commercial off the shelf (COTS) GIS server equipment in support of intelligence organizations. Strong oral and written communication skills and effective delegation.
- High level/expert ability to manage and work with static and dynamic streaming geospatial oriented data.
- Maintain currency of the appropriate certification as required by DODD 8570.01.
- Bachelor's degree and three additional years of general experience in the fields of database administration, intelligence systems architecture, and geospatial systems experience.
- Network+ and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
- SQL Server 2016 certifications.
- Expert working knowledge of the discovery, analysis, and exploitation of geospatial systems.
