The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (Net Ops); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support;
provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Network Engineers perform Tier Three network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. This critical role involves the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of advanced enterprise network infrastructures, including Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and associated automation technologies. These networks form the backbone of mission-critical operations, enabling secure communication, data transfer, and connectivity across global enterprise environments.
This position ensures seamless integration of hardware, software, protocols, and security technologies while adhering to stringent Government compliance requirements and optimizing network performance. Network Engineers must be proficient in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of networking components, including routers, switches, encryption devices, and virtualized network environments.
Network Engineers are responsible for integrating new technologies into existing systems, ensuring compatibility, reliability, and adherence to industry best practices. This role demands expertise in emerging network automation technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability. Ultimately, this position ensures the SIE remain secure, resilient, and capable of meeting evolving operational demands.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provisioning, operating, managing, engineering, and monitoring LAN/WAN services to securely connect remote elements and mission partners over the SIE and shared public IP networks.
- Ensure network compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Defense Information System Agency (DISA), United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), National Security Agency (NSA), and USSOCOM policies, procedures, regulations, and directives.
- Provide full lifecycle support for LAN/WAN infrastructures, including automation, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Manage network automation technologies for efficient provisioning, monitoring, and operations.
- Plan, design, configure, operate, and maintain LAN/WAN routing and switching infrastructure templates.
- Identify and troubleshoot advanced network issues related to data, voice, and transport systems.
- Monitor and control network performance using software and hardware tools.
- Engineer and optimize enterprise data, voice, and video networks, including IP satellite technologies and In-Line Encryption (INE) devices.
- Establish baselines to measure network performance across a global enterprise.
- Develop and implement systems and network engineering plans, including modeling and simulation.
- Regularly review and recommend improvements to existing network architectures.
- Lead technical teams in integrating new technologies into operational environments.
- Support cybersecurity efforts, including risk identification, mitigation, and A&A documentation.
