We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer responsible for providing oversight on the Archon CSfC solution and leading a team of engineers who will maintain the health of the overall customer solution. This role includes troubleshooting advanced solution issues, designing viable solutions for emerging mission requirements, and directing solution upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure the Archon solution preserves its NSA CSfC Accreditation.
This is a shift‑work position to support a 24/7 mission.
- Must currently be a U.S. citizen (no waiver) and hold an active TS/SCI with Poly (no waiver)
- Minimum experience of 5 years; bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university or extensive experience with implementing complex network solutions
- Certifications:
Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP‑DCV, and CompTIA Security+ CE - DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher required
- Assists with providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
- Establishes networking environment by managing system configuration; assisting in system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
- Provides detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
- Configures and installs various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing
- Conducts testing of network systems; maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
- Works within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Performs network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations; works with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Knowledge of communication methods, principles, and concepts (e.g., crypto, dual hubs, time multiplexers) that support the network infrastructure
- Knowledge of capabilities and applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, transmission media, and related hardware
- Knowledge of local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management
- Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and directory services
- Knowledge of how traffic flows across the network (e.g., TCP and IP, OSI, ITIL)
- Knowledge of server administration and systems engineering theories, concepts, and methods
- Knowledge of key telecommunications concepts (e.g., routing algorithms, fiber optics, link budgeting, add/drop multiplexers)
- Knowledge of VPN security
- Skill in implementing and testing network infrastructure contingency and recovery plans
- Skill in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN components such as routers, hubs, and switches
- Ability to operate common network tools (e.g., ping, trace route, nslookup)
- Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches (e.g., higher‑level protocols, tunneling)
- Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures
- Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware); execute OS command line commands such as ipconfig, netstat, dir, nbtstat
- Skill in configuring and utilizing network protection components (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems)
- Knowledge of network systems management principles, models, methods (e.g., end‑to‑end performance monitoring) and tools
