The C-12 / King Air Army Transport Quality Control Inspector (QC-TI) is responsible to the Site Supervisor. When performing QC duties and inspections required during actions performed by their respective site, QCI’s perform spot‑checks on work in progress, final inspections on maintenance items and are familiar with the provisions and responsibilities in the various programs managed and monitored by QC.
Responsibilities- Perform spot‑checks on work in progress and final inspections on maintenance items.
- Ensure aircraft records keeping procedures comply with DA PAM 738-751 and other applicable regulations.
- Deploy to overseas locations with unit aircraft to support operational requirements.
- Conduct inspections, evaluations and report deficiencies in all areas of contract performance as detailed in the applicable Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP).
- Authorize stopping work or preventing aircraft release if a deficiency creates an unsafe condition.
- Implement applicable quality control policies and procedures.
- Maintain records of evaluator proficiency evaluations.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid (FAA) A&P certificate with a valid (FAA) IA Inspection Authorization.
- At least five (5) years hands‑on maintenance experience on the Army C‑12/King Air (200/350/1900).
- Proficient in the use of AWBS.
- In‑depth knowledge of the FAA, Army and Hawker Beech.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a valid US passport for OCONUS TDY travel if requested.
- Ability to move freely inside aircraft interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead.
- Pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional before performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading or operating support equipment within ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette, and subsequently on a periodic basis not to exceed five (5) years. BMI below 40 required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
- US citizenship required for clearance and facility credentials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace, promote housekeeping, safety and environmental control standards.
- Mobility to move inside the aircraft hangar and on the ramp near running equipment.
- Ability to lift or push up to 50 lbs and to stand, squat, bend, walk, climb, maneuver around aircraft.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, writing and understanding English.
- Physically able to deploy overseas with unit aircraft.
