The RoleTelum is seeking HUMINT Targeting Specialists (SMEs) to support USSOCOM in planning and executing sensitive HUMINT and targeting missions. In this role you will provide specialized, non-personal services to USSOCOM staff across the HUMINT lifecycle—collection planning and execution, lead generation, exploitation, analysis, coordination, reporting, and adaptive planning to address capability or training gaps. You will help synchronize HUMINT missions and prioritize collection to meet operational objectives while ensuring compliance with DoD policy, law, and established guidance.
This position requires advanced HUMINT targeting tradecraft to develop courses of action for emergent HUMINT problems, integrate HUMINT into broader targeting and collection plans, and mentor teams to improve long-term HUMINT effectiveness.
What You’ll Do- Plan, coordinate, and execute HUMINT targeting activities across the F3
EAD/HUMINT targeting cycle. - Develop HUMINT lead generation and development strategies; manage collection plans and exploitation efforts.
- Conduct Human Factors, Human Terrain, Social Network, HVI, and Patterns-of-Life analyses to inform targeting.
- Integrate HUMINT results into all-source target development and operational plans.
- Produce timely, mission-relevant reporting and finished intelligence products for senior‑level decision makers.
- Identify knowledge/capability shortfalls and recommend training or mitigation COAs.
- Train and mentor incoming HUMINT targeteers and analytic teams on tradecraft, tools, and methodologies.
- Ensure all activities meet legal, policy, and classification requirements.
- 8+ years experience in an analytic or targeting role within a National Intelligence Agency, Combatant Command staff, or DoD operational unit.
- 5+ years experience providing targeting support to HUMINT operations or HUMINT programs.
- Graduate of one or a combination of:
Targeting Foundations Course (TFC), HUMINT Targeting Training Seminar (HTTS), Joint HUMINT Analysis and Targeting Course (JHATC), or legacy equivalents (FHTC, AHTC, TNPC, OHTC). - Advanced proficiency in the Intelligence Cycle, HUMINT Targeting Cycle, HVI targeting, Human Factors/Human Terrain, Social Network Analysis, and Patterns‑of‑Life analysis.
- Expert knowledge of HUMINT doctrine, tradecraft, systems, legal/policy frameworks, and operational methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience applying HUMINT tradecraft, tools, and methods to collect, analyze, and fuse complex HUMINT‑related information.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HUMINT collection plans, lead‑generation strategies, and exploitation processes.
- Active TS with SCI eligibility required at time of application.
- Recent SOF/USSOCOM HUMINT targeting experience.
- Familiarity with collection management and integration across multi‑INT disciplines.
- Strong briefing, stakeholder coordination, and mentoring skills.
- Experience producing finished HUMINT targeting products and supporting dynamic targeting in deployed environments.
