Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking a qualified SOF Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Instructor/Evaluator (JTAC I/E) to serve as a Program Assistant (PA) in support to the United States Army 1st Special Forces Command(A) and 5th Special Forces Group (5th SFG). The JTAC PA shall be assigned to the 5th SFG(A) and possess a minimum of two years special operations forces (SOF) experience.
The employee shall work closely with active‑duty Special Forces elements. Provide continuity to the establishment and maintenance of the SF Group JTAC program academics. Employee shall assist and manage JTAC digital records tracking systems and maintain SOF JTAC trainees 6‑part folders. Employee shall utilize the Special Operations Forces JTAC Records Management System (SRMS) and other approved systems/methods in accordance with Joint Fire Support Executive Steering Committee (JFS‑ESC) JTAC AP Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), USSOCOM M350‑5, USASOC Sup 1, 1st Special Forces Command (1st SFC) R350‑1, Appendix M (JTAC SOP) and SF Group guidance.
Employee shall provide classroom instruction, simulator instruction, and live fly Close Air Support (CAS) instruction to SOF JTAC Trainees, JTACs, JTAC Instructors and JTAC Evaluators IAW the customers schedule and at the needs of 5th SFG(A). Employee shall perform JTAC/JTAC‑I/JTAC‑Evaluator control duties.

- Will maintain currency and proficiency in JTAC, JTAC Instructor, and JTAC Evaluator qualifications; in accordance with JTAC MOU, USSOCOM M350‑5, USASOC Sup 1, 1
SFC D350‑1, Appendix M and SF Group guidance. - Will provide instruction to JTAC trainees, JTACs, JTAC Instructors and JTAC Evaluators in accordance with JFS ESC, SOCOM, USASOC, 1
SFC and SF Group guidance. - Will develop, maintain, and update JTAC course materials; giving and grading exams; coordinating classroom space and logistical requirements; classroom and field instruction; and documenting every aspect of JTAC/student performance.
- Will perform specified notional CAS, Rotary Wing, Artillery (ARTY), Naval Surface Fires Support (NSFS) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Electronic Warfare (EW) requirements and duties with simulators in lieu of CCAS or military aircraft duties.
- When requested, shall assist with range scheduling and mission duties for range operations.
- Will provide/develop JTAC simulator scenarios and simulator operations as needed.
- When requested, shall attend Fire Support and JTAC conferences, symposiums, meetings and working groups to ensure program continuity.
- Will support the JTAC Pipeline course as needed to facilitate mission qualification training for JTAC students.
- Will provide CAS/CCAS malfunction, accident, incident response and reporting.
- Will attend annual professional development training as directed by the JTAC program supervisor.
- Navigate day or night, to and from the training are complying with local range procedures.
- Provide initial, recurring, requalification and spot objectivity evaluations as required.
- Shall participate in all virtual and DMO training and exercises as required.
- Manage and report accountability of PoP TDY funds and shall submit a monthly status of travel funds spent and travel funds remaining to the 1st SFC COR.
- Possess advance knowledge of Joint, and Special Operations Forces operations, JTAC employment scenarios, JTAC tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
The required skills and knowledge include:
- JTAC Instructor experience.
- JTAC Evaluator experience.
- Minimum of two years Active Duty, Guard or Reserve SOF JTAC experience.
- Maintain JTAC, JTAC-I, JTAC-E qualifications.
- Maintain proficiency in simulator operations with the ability to calibrate and operate all assigned simulator equipment and operation required scenarios.
- Must possess navigation/map and compass skills.
- Must possess a valid civilian Driver’s License.
- All other applicable duties assigned by site lead and supervisor.
- High School Education or GED equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office:
