The electrician/avionic aircraft mechanic I maintains and troubleshoots SOF specific MH-47G aircraft as it pertains to electrical and avionics systems, sub-systems, communications, navigation systems, weapons, and aircraft survivability equipment.
Responsibilities- This mechanic will be required to repair and replace aircraft wiring, replace aircraft components, and troubleshoot aircraft electrical systems as needed or as instructed in technical publications and IETMS.
- The mechanic will need to be able to use a multi‑meter as well as other standard avionic test sets to maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems.
- This worker reads schematics, interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- This mechanic must be able to work independently during travel and while at home station performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- This mechanic must be able to perform administrative actions when it comes to aircraft forms and records on systems being utilized by the organization.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- 6+ years' experience in aviation avionic/electrical systems. Two years of SOCOM aircraft experience desirable.
- Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time supporting TDY assignments.
- Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records with ACN or other electronic logbook system.
- Must have own toolbox and tools.
- Experience using multi-meters and other electrical/avionic test sets.
- Able to pass basic solder certification and vision testing.
- Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate equipment and vehicles on the flight line.
