General Engineer

• Interpret policy, code compliance, anti-terrorism/force protection compliance.
• Provide guidance as a Project Manager and designer for construction, renovation, repair projects, and service contracts.
• Provide technical, engineering and construction advisory services to tenant, Garrison and reimbursable customers.
• Provide engineering services to pre-construction design and development phases.
• Evaluate and consult during all phases of work for renovation, construction, and repair projects.
• Provide multi-disciplined engineering, environmental and architectural services to support the assigned projects.
• Conduct analysis of goods and services received.
• Maintain records of the quality assurance actions and prepare memorandums for record, recommendations and reports.
• Report all discrepancies and problems to the Contracting Officer.
• Monitor and control project execution.
• Conduct site visits to verify contractor performance in accordance with technical requirements.
• Recommend release or withholding of funds based on quality of work completed.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
