Our work depends on the GEF Engineer Principle providing engineering, systems administration, capability management support for the current Global Enterprise Fabric (GEF) non-secure and secure networks, installation support to deploy GEF, and future configurations of the system.
HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Provide engineering, system administration support for the current Global Enterprise Fabric (GEF) secure and nonsecure networks, installation support to deploy GEF, and future configurations of the system.
- Provide engineering and technical support with design, configuration, test, implementation, troubleshooting, workload on-boarding assistance, integration, documentation, configuration management.
- Integrate and test patches, updates, and upgrades, and provide Tier III support to GEF installations.
- Perform baseline testing and ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance in the enterprise operations facility prior to release to the responsible Operational and Maintenance organization.
- Design and implement data centers in DoD or Coalition networks.
- Implement and sustain VMware, installation, configuration, management, and data protection of high-availability virtualized environments.
- Analyze and provide input to SAN systems such as Network Appliance (NETAPP) SAN systems for use within Army Enterprise.
- Provide Tier III support to GEF installations which includes coordination with vendor product specialists.
- Education:
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science. - Required Experience:
8+ years of related experience in the information technology field. - Required Technical
Skills:
DoD 8570.1-M certification: IAT Level III Certification, Computing Environment Certification. - Security Clearance Level: Secret.
Required
Skills and Abilities:
Experience with how Microsoft Enterprise products and tools interrelate to ensure Net Ops capability integration, working knowledge of Cisco validated design for VMware vSphere, experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting, strong networking, security, and Microsoft background.
Preferred
Skills:
Experience in IP data networking and all aspects of network security and working knowledge in Linux, Cisco Internet Operating system (IOS), Cisco NXOS, ASA firewalls, data packet routing, switching, proxy services, and engineering for IP data networks, VPNs, and IPSEC.

The likely salary range for this position is $89,250 - $120,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
