OverviewThe NMAC System Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will work onsite at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.
Responsibilities- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, peripheral, and networking problems in stressful situations.
- Explain technical concepts to inexperienced users.
- Optimize, fine‑tune, and monitor operating system software and hardware.
- Install and configure software and hardware.
- Create Incident Reports on system issues and perform system data collection.
- Perform and provide server, workstation, and application expertise to government, civilian, and contractor users.
- Provide support to other work centers and the test community.
- Travel to off‑site locations with the supported community users.
- Escort and provide support to engineers and maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate with other Mission Assurance Centers.
- Order replacement of new hardware and software including warranty claims.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Shift work is required to support 24×7 operations; must be available on any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule, and can remain on‑site for extended periods during emergencies and drills.
- Must have a Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.
- Current DoD IAT Level II or higher (Security+).
- 4 years or more of general work experience.
- 1.5 years or more of direct work experience.
- Working knowledge and system administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux;
Microsoft Windows operating systems; VMWare and system virtualization; and LAN/WAN technologies. - Red‑Hat or Linux experience/knowledge.
- Understanding of virtual machine and Remote Desktop.
- Windows System Administration experience or background with SPADOC or space situational analysis/space orbital.
- Associate of Science Degree in a computer field.
- Virtual Machine Certifications.
- Cyber and Space Operations experience.
- Basic understanding of network topologies and protocols.
- Remedy trouble ticket experience.
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually (depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position).
