This position supports the Construction Manager and has full responsibility for managing and coordinating traffic control activities on a large, multi-year telecommunications construction project throughout the Bay Area. The role requires an organized, regulatory‑savvy professional who can read and interpret detailed traffic control plans and credentialed to handle all traffic‑management scenarios.

Job SummaryFull‑time, Mid‑Senior level. Pay rate: $22.00–$26.00 per hour. No per diem.
Responsibilities- Place, remove, and repair temporary and permanent traffic control devices.
- Coordinate traffic flaggers in construction areas.
- Supervise traffic flaggers in the work zone.
- Manage time and administrative functions for direct reports.
- Comply with all organizational and regulatory safety standards; ensure all team members attend and execute pre‑task safety planning each day.
- Create and interpret traffic control plans for various construction projects and implement compliant plans in the field.
- Inspect traffic control devices to ensure functionality, placement, and safety compliance.
- Manage direction of traffic using signs, paddles, hand gestures, radios, and/or verbal communication.
- Three (3) years relevant experience in a supervisory role.
- Current and valid state driver’s license.
- Knowledge of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD) guidelines and the translation of this to control traffic using proper devices and techniques.
- ATSSA certification or comparable course certification.
- Solid understanding of construction job sites.
- Knowledge of safety rules for construction sites and the ability to abide by them.
- 500 hours experience in traffic control flagging.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex and detailed construction and traffic control plans.
- Ability to effectively present and direct detailed instructions to team members in small groups.
- Ability to perform and understand fundamental mathematical problems including multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions, whole numbers and decimals.
- Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions and maintain and submit daily logs and reports.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Field environment with extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting, in inclement weather. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lb, with clear vision and precise hand‑eye coordination. Lifting required.
