Summary

The Principal is responsible for the safety and well‑being of students, for ensuring excellence in academic and co‑curricular programs, for curriculum development and supervision, for faculty evaluation and professional development, for planning and administering the school budget, and for cultivating positive and mutually beneficial relationships with the school community, students, parents, faculty, staff, and the district.

Job Tasks
  • Direct building-level curriculum and instruction to increase student achievement, staying informed on current research in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Supervise, assess, and monitor student performance using objective data, including standardized, district, and teacher‑developed assessments.
  • Evaluate and supervise school personnel for performance monitoring, professional growth, and achievement of curriculum objectives.
  • Establish and foster an adult‑learning environment that maximizes collaboration and community among staff.
  • Advocate for students, staff, and the district to encourage and promote community involvement and outreach.
  • Develop and manage budgets based on documented program needs, enrollment, personnel, and fiscal requirements; maintain fiscal control and report accurately.
  • Manage school facilities and supervise maintenance to ensure a clean, orderly, safe campus.
  • Facilitate communication between personnel, students, and/or parents for evaluating situations, solving problems, and resolving conflicts.
  • Represent the school in community forums to maintain ongoing support for educational goals and address school environment issues.
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licenses Required
  • Master's degree with successful completion of a principal licensure program.
  • Minimum of five years of teaching/administration experience, including at least three years of teaching.
  • Valid Colorado Principal License.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license.
