What You’ll Be DoingAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll serve as both a technical leader and a strategic partner. Expect your days to include a mix of design, analysis, leadership, and client-facing collaboration:
- Drive Engineering Excellence: Lead utility-scale transmission, distribution, and substation projects from concept to delivery, broad areas of practice including relay/system protection coordination, short circuit/arc flash studies, transmission and distribution design load flow analysis, and system interconnections.
- Shape Solutions: Analyze data, troubleshoot complex electrical challenges, and propose innovative solutions that balance performance, safety, and cost.
- Mentor and Lead: Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers, helping grow our team’s capabilities and set new standards of practice.
- Deliver Results: Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating across disciplines and maintaining transparent communication with clients.
- Influence the Future: Support business development, contribute to proposals, and build strong client relationships to expand EDM’s presence in the utility sector.
We’re looking for a seasoned engineer who combines technical rigor with leadership presence:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) Electrical (required)
- Experience: 6+ years in utility transmission, distribution, or substation design, with hands-on expertise in at least one of the following: relay/system protection coordination, short circuit/arc flash, load flow, interconnections, or system planning
- Proven ability to mentor technical teams and make final engineering decisions
- Proficiency with modeling and analysis tools (e.g., ASPEN, ETAP, CYME, Milsoft, Synergi)
- Strong analytical skills and the judgment to diagnose and resolve power system issues such as protection mis-operations, reliability improvements, and equipment failures
