Structural Engineer – Stations Structural
Design the structures that keep energy flowing safely and reliably.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Design support structures, systems, and equipment adapters driven by electrical arrangement drawings
- Engineer foundations (piers, slabs, etc.) using site data, calculated loads, and tools such as LPile
- Develop civil scopes from one‑line diagrams, electrical layouts, and site plans in collaboration with electrical designers
- Review structural design drawings, fabricator details, and project documents for compliance with design theory, specified materials, and applicable codes/standards
- Recommend improvements to designs, drawings, and documentation to enhance constructability and performance
- Coordinate schedules with project managers and designers to ensure on‑time steel delivery
- Create material requisitions; work with steel fabricators to validate lead times and costs so the right steel is ordered and delivered per schedule
- Support the field—perform site walk‑downs, assist with construction issues, and review structural practices
- Answer technical questions from electrical designers, fabricators, and construction personnel
- Coordinate submittals across structural and electrical teams to meet project milestones
- Contribute to construction documents related to project schedules
- Collaborate under the guidance of higher‑level engineers while growing into increased ownership
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of structural engineering, analysis, and foundation design
