Our employee‑owned company is seeking a confident and accountable Transportation Construction Engineer/Inspector to oversee multiple projects in the transportation division.

Responsibilities
  • Lead identification, marketing, and winning of transportation construction management projects from clients including CDOT, counties, municipalities, and private sector.
  • Serve as an inspector for transportation‑related construction projects.
  • Manage client relationships and maintain respectful working relationships with employee owners and leaders.
  • Perform construction engineering duties: field layout, quantity verification, record keeping, contractor pay estimate, contract modification prep, construction meetings, materials acceptance and testing, CDOT final inspections, QA/QC process, and general inspection.
  • Assist with design and plan production for transportation‑related projects.
  • Engage in local, statewide, and/or national professional organizations.
  • Participate in office‑wide social events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation or construction management.
  • Minimum of 4 years of construction experience on roads and/or bridges.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Certification in CDOT Highway Technician Program credentials; willingness to perform design‑related tasks in the construction off‑season.
  • Willingness to travel long distances, including extended overnight stays, to support project needs.
  • Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
Desired Skills and Experiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to operate independently and work well in team environments.
  • Registered professional engineer (PE) in Colorado or ability to achieve within 12 months.
  • Experience with CDOT project development process, construction observation, and materials testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Civil3D, plus other transportation engineering software.

The salary range for this posting is $90,000 – $125,000.
