Interstates is currently in search of talented and motivated Senior Estimator with at least 5 years' experience in industrial electrical estimating. Your role will be to work with our team of construction professionals and provide accurate and efficient cost estimates for projects in the Northern Colorado area.

Responsibilities:The estimating department is responsible for producing project-specific construction estimates based on written and/or oral instructions from our clients. Your role in this process will be as follows:
- Reviews and analyzes bid specifications, bid drawings and other bid documents to prepare estimates as well as consult with clients, vendors, and other offer estimators.
- Understands design and can formulate information to accurately predict costs implications for design-build estimates.
- Co-develops scopes with clients and other project team members to understand what customers value.
- Prepares complete estimates for all ranges of project complexity and size.
- Identifies and utilizes job cost history for production units, direct labor, indirect labor, general expenses to ensure that costs are applied correctly.
- Understand how scope of works impact other offer category estimators and actively engages with others to ensure that there are not scope gaps.
- Leads communications and collaboration efforts with internal and external proposal stakeholders.
- Develop accurate and timely electrical construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals for our client-base customers.
- Defines winning strategies and value-add ideas as needed.
- Maintains and captures all necessary documentation of the bid cycle (i.e.: notes, assumptions, verbal instructions).
- Able to lead scope review meetings with external clients.
- Assesses risks and mitigates them by offering solutions and clarifies them in proposals.
- Assembles and transfers the estimate information to the execution team.
- Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
- Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.
- Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative.
- Draft scope letters, proposals and vendor solicitations.
- Attend job walks; pre-bid meetings; collaborations and conferences with clients and design professionals.
- Assist/support the Regional Manager in the management of the Estimating Department; the education and development of junior personnel; on-going development and maintenance of computerized estimating programs and databases; congenial relations with clients and vendors.
- Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner.
Essential Functions:
- Work alongside other estimators, project managers and project engineers on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects.
- Help create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
- Experience estimating a wide range of projects up to 7 million dollars in value.
- Preferred to have experience with the following software's:
Microsoft Project (scheduling software), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, AutoCAD, and one of the major computerized estimating programs (e.g., BHS, Accubid, etc). - Analytical, problem-solving mentality.
