Job Overview

The Restaurant Manager oversees the hiring, operations, and daily logistics of the restaurant. They manage scheduling, guest feedback, and inventory, ensuring the restaurant and bar staff are supported and equipped to provide remarkable guest experiences. The role includes marketing and promotional activities to increase visits and profitability while maintaining liquor licensing compliance and adhering to local regulations. The Manager fosters a welcoming, classic, and upscale yet comfortable culture, creating meaningful connections with guests and an intimate social experience with a relaxed approach.

Job Functions
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new restaurant and bar staff.
  • Manage guest feedback.
  • Advertise daily, weekly, and monthly promotions.
  • Ensure staff follow food/drink control and safety regulations.
  • Create employee schedules based on forecasted guest numbers.
  • Track and document inventory, maintaining appropriate product levels.
  • Manage staff performance; conduct coaching sessions as needed.
  • Develop continuous improvement plans.
  • Responsible for all departmental communications and meetings, including:
    • Daily pre‑shift stand‑ups
    • Monthly all‑staff meetings
    • Dissemination of information from leadership meetings to F&B staff
    • End‑of‑shift reports and emails
    • Scheduling and staff messaging systems
  • Confirm new bartenders are TIPS certified.
  • Plan and create menus.
  • Collaborate with department heads on events, marketing, etc.
  • Complete onboarding paperwork for new bar hires.
  • Monitor employee adherence to hotel policies.
  • Educate new hires on the employee handbook during onboarding.
  • Administer training programs for policy compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with employment‑related regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication within and across departments.
  • Detect and rectify safety hazards.
  • Participate in projects, programs, and assignments to ensure guidelines are followed.
  • Develop positive rapport with all stakeholders.
  • Align with the culture, values, goals, and HR programs of the hotel and The Yarrow Group.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Requirements Essential Qualifications
  • Restaurant management experience required.
  • Bachelor's and/or Associate’s degree preferred (not required).
  • TIPS certification required.
  • Strong customer service aptitude and ability.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Active team player with ability to collaborate across teams.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role requires standing, walking, climbing, balancing, and the use of hands to handle, feel, or finger. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
