The position is full‑time (40 hours/week) and based in Larimer County, Colorado.
Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr (based on relevant experience).
Role OverviewThe Development Director will provide leadership in developing and executing all development initiatives, including fundraising, grant programs, donor relations, marketing, communications, and community engagement. The role supports the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, enhancing visibility, fostering partnerships, and increasing philanthropic support.
Essential Duties- Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive fundraising strategies (annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and special events) and grant programs.
- Manage donor databases, tracking systems, and reporting tools to ensure accurate and timely communication and data management.
- Lead the development and implementation of a strategic marketing and communications plan to enhance visibility and brand awareness.
- Oversee external communications, including website content, social media, press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and local media.
- Represent the organization at community events, forums, and conferences as a visible ambassador of SHP’s mission, vision, and values.
- Partner with leadership to cultivate donor and funder relationships.
- Establish and communicate performance metrics, monitor results, and evaluate the effectiveness of development strategies.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to development and communications staff, interns, and volunteers as applicable.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- More than ten years of progressive responsibility in development, fundraising, or advancement activities in healthcare, behavioral health, human services, or a similar setting.
- Proven success leading fundraising campaigns and grant teams in securing major gifts, grants, and building donor relationships.
- More than five years of experience in a leadership role.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be evaluated and considered.
- Driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record.
- Master’s degree in business administration, communication, public relations, or a related field.
- Bilingual/bi-cultural proficiency.
