Your OpportunityJoin Stantec’s Environmental Services Cultural Resources Team in Oregon and Washington. We are seeking innovative and motivated team members to help grow our cultural resources program, which currently supports a variety of clients and projects. We are seeking numerous archaeological staff reporting to our offices in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada.
- Support archaeological field directors and project managers with pre-field planning, cultural surveys, and monitoring.
- Exhibit good field skills and ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
- Identify and record archaeological potential, sites, and traditional use sites.
- Collect appropriate field data.
- Support construction planning.
- Willingness to learn, flexibility, good communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to travel out-of-town for up to 2 weeks.
- Knowledge of State issued forms.
- Proficiency with Trimble GPS units or equivalent and software.
- Completed archaeological field school or equivalent training.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in remote or hot/dry environments.
- Experience working with Native American groups.
- Familiarity with field applications like Survey
123, Collector. - Specialization in Section 106 compliance on federal lands.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to safety culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology.
- Minimum of 1 year CRM experience.
- Experience with small and large archaeological crews.
The role involves typical office work with computers and fieldwork in various weather conditions. Responsibilities may change as needed.
