Journeyman Electrician

The Journeyman directs the tasks of Apprentices and potentially other Journeymen electricians, participating in commercial electrical construction and service work.

• COMPENSATION: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour

• Install quality workmanship neatly and accurately
• Respect tools and equipment
• Work and climb ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
• Identify electrical parts and components
• Perform strenuous physical tasks such as digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, and climbing
• Stay current with evolving technology and electrical codes
• Wear tools and safety equipment as required
• Work in all weather conditions

A functional physical exam must be completed and passed before starting work. Requirements include:

• Driving, sitting, climbing
• Lifting (up to 50 lbs from floor to chest, waist), carrying (up to 50 lbs)
• Overhead lifting (up to 30 lbs each arm)
• Standing, stooping, kneeling, walking
• Vision acuity (near, far, color vision)
• Trimming and final installation work
• Pushing and pulling (up to 100 lbs)

• Four years of apprenticeship training or three years plus a two-year technical college degree in a related field
• Journeyman Wireman’s license from Wyoming or reciprocating state
• High energy and a sense of urgency preferred
