Overview
Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious Local CDL Class B Refuse Route Driver to join our growing team in Greeley, Colorado.
CompensationBase pay range: $23.00/hr - $25.00/hr.
Pay details: $23-$25 per hour working 50-55 hours a week; every hour after 40 is paid overtime. $2,500 Stay On Bonus. This position is eligible for safety bonuses.
- Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
- Read route sheets and service each customer listed on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles (check fluids, safety equipment, tires).
- Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, sometimes with no helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Extensive physical activity; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts; follow basic safety precautions.
- Outside work with some exposure to weather, humidity, fumes, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
Job Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Ability to work Monday – Friday with some Saturdays; approximately 50-55 hours per week with paid overtime.
- Must be 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle.
