Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 20-bed adult and pediatric unit requiring 3 years of med-surg experience and 1 year of pediatric experience.

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of med-surg experience required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required
• Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

• 20-bed medical-surgical unit caring for adult geriatric and pediatric patients
• Staffing ratios typically 4:1 (max 5:1) for non-Covid patients and 2:1 (max 3:1) for Covid patients
• 12-hour night shift schedule, typically 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Up to 1 on-call shift per week required
• Must be flexible to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed
• May be assigned to help cover Flu Immunization clinics as needed
• Floating to other qualified departments may be required, including patient care or task-oriented duties
• Maximum of two shift call-offs allowed during the assignment
• RTO requests for Thanksgiving and Christmas will not be accepted
• Travelers are expected to attend staff meetings
• Orientation occurs on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will push start to the next scheduled orientation
