Certified Athletic Trainer CNOS

Overview

This role provides preventative care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The athletic trainer will supervise the daily operation of the athletic training room, assist with rehab plans, and prepare athletes for practices and games by taping, wrapping, and applying modalities as needed. Coverage of games as necessary and injury documentation with CNOS physicians on the care of student athletes.

• Provide preventative care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
• Supervise daily operation of the athletic training room to ensure smooth care of student athletes.
• Work with athletes to rehab injuries and create plans to return to game-ready status.
• Prepare athletes for practices and games by taping, wrapping, and applying modalities as needed.
• Provide coverage during games and respond to injuries that occur during play.
• Document injury notes and communicate with CNOS physicians on the care of student athletes.

• Board Certification required
• State of Iowa license required
• CPR and BLS certification
• Bachelor's degree in related field and Board Certification required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Eligible for license in Iowa
• New graduates encouraged to apply

• Varied shifts during the week
• Mostly afternoon, evening, athlete practice and event coverage
• Year-round position
• Must be available to work weekends
